Senior BJP Leader & Former Health Minister of Punjab rebuked the AAP Government for failing to recover Punjab from the crumbling financial conditions.
As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) report, the state has accumulated debt of Rs. 3,05,126.3 crore including guarantees. Sidhu stated that this government has failed to attract any FDIs or any major domestic investment in the state.
Sidhu added noted economists from Punjab have urged Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman to take urgent cognizance of the financial condition of Punjab and ensure a revival plan for regaining the momentum in the economy.
He further stated that the fiscal policy has become dysfunctional and that resurrection is a long way off. He said that Bhagwant Mann has no model for the revival of the poor health condition of Punjab. He recalled Kejriwal’s tall promises of financial revival before the election. His claim to ensure the ease of doing business, promote entrepreneurship, and attract foreign investment were mere gimmicks to gain mileage.
He further stated that in reality, the Government has no strategic plan on the cards. It is vividly seen that there is a huge financial deficit that cannot be met until strenuous efforts are being taken on the grounds.
Demanding a financial package will only be the last resort but wisely utilizing and creating further resources for securing the future is the need of the hour.
Industries are hesitant to invest in the State as the recently evolved mafia culture has tarnished the image of Punjab at the global level. He further stated that commenting in the media without facts will cost them high.
Recently Bhagwant Mann’s claim on Gangster Goldy Brar’s detention has created chaos and speculation whereas his viral audio call recording with a reporter has intensified the doubts regarding his detention.
Bhagwant Mann should clear his facts first and then address the public on concrete grounds. Previously his comment on BMW investing in Punjab has also questioned his credibility.
He stated that Bhagwant Mann is a nonserious politician despite a huge mandate, he chose to remain in Gujarat for a long period with his cabinet, which signifies his insensitivity towards the issues of Punjab. At least he should have empathy towards the people of Punjab who have invested faith in him, he added.
