7th round of Mega Job Fair begins in Jalandhar, Placement Camp launched in Mehatpur

With the commencement of the first placement camp in Mehatpur, the 7th round of the mega job fair began in Jalandhar on Tuesday under Ghar Ghar Rojgar Yojna. The camp was organized at block development and Panchayat Officer, Mehatpur in which as many as 355 youths participated while ten companies appeared to shortlist eligible beneficiaries for various job opportunities.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a large number of positions were offered in today’s placement camp and 304 candidates were selected by the companies against these jobs. These companies included A-One international, LIC, CSC, SBI, Pukhraj healthcare, ICICI Bank, Narayni Herbal, Herbalife Nutrition, and Agile Company, he added.

The DC said under the 7th round of mega job fair as many as 12 placement camps will be organized in the district including camps at BDPO offices of Shahkot, Lohian Khas, Noormahal, Bhogpur, and Adampur on April 8, 9, 12, 16, and 19 respectively.

Similarly, more camps to be held in various locations comprising a camp at DBEE Jalandhar on April 20, Guru Nanak National College for women, Nakodar on April 23, Janta College Kartarpur on April 26, Government Polytechnic College for women, Jalandhar on 27th, BDPO officer Phillaur on 28th, and CT Institute of Engineering and Technology, Shahpur on April 30, 2021.

The DC said these job fairs would provide ample employment opportunities to unemployed youth across the district under the ambitious scheme Ghar Ghar Rojgar Yojna as a large number of companies would take part with several job opportunities for the participants. He said that the selection of the youth for jobs would be made purely on merit through a fair and transparent system.

Mr. Thori said these mega job fairs would pave the way for realizing the dream of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to provide jobs to every unemployed youth of the state. He said that the youth must avail maximum benefit of these job fairs, which would be instrumental in opening new avenues of employment for them.

He said that these job fairs aim at making the youth an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state by offering employment opportunities to them.
