78% of total Coronavirus samples taken in Jalandhar found negative

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that around 78% of the total Throat swab tests conducted in the district to detect Corona Virus were negative as so far out of the total 5085 samples taken in Jalandhar, as many as 3975 samples have been tested negative of Covid 19.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that till now 5085 samples through the Throat Swab tests have been taken in the district out of which 174 have been found positive whereas 3975 samples have been found negative.

They further said that reports of 793 patients were still pending but so far total 24 patients have recovered from Corona Virus and have been discharged from the Civil Hospital. Both the officers further said that currently 140 active cases of the Corona Virus were undergoing treatment in the local Civil Hospital adding that all of them were non-critical.

The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police further said that 112 teams of the Health department today conducted door to door survey of 9865 houses during which 52192 persons were screened.

They said that in the district so far 8025 persons have been home quarantined out of which 6878 have completed their 14 days period where as the quarantine period of 1147 persons was still active.

Both the officers urged the people not to get panicky as the district administration was duty-bound to win this war against pandemic at every cost. They also urged the people to observe the twin golden principle of ‘self home quarantine’ and social distancing for winning the war against pandemic.
