6th Edition of Spark Career Guidance Fest begins with a bang at Jalandhar

The sixth edition of the Spark career guidance fest today had a dazzling start as thousands of students from across the district converged here at the local Guru Gobind Singh Stadium for getting valuable career related guidance from the various experts.

The Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, declared the fest open on Thursday morning amongst thunderous applause by the students.

In his address, Lok Sabha MP deveined education as the key for overall development of a person. He said besides ensuring comprehensive development of a person education open new vistas for the individual in varied fields.

Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain was committed for imparting quality education to the students for which concerted efforts were being made.

The Lok Sabha MP congratulated the district administration for organising the mega event to give vital career related guidance to students in the district. He assured fulsome support and cooperation to the administration for any such noble cause.

Chaudhary Santokh Singh said that every effort would be made to impart quality education to the students for assuring their bright future.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion and gave brief introduction about the event. He envisioned that ‘Spark-career guidance fest would act as a milestone for giving right direction to the career of the youth of the district. Mr. Sharma said that district administration aims at making the youth an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state by grooming them for future challenges.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that every effort would be made in future to organize more such events for preparing the students for coming times. He said that the time was not far when the students who would benefitted from this fest would scale new heights in future and script new history in their lives.

Mr Sharma expressed hope that the result oriented guidance given by the experts of the varied fields would ensure holistic development of the students.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told the students that the three golden principles of hard-work, dedication and perseverance could be instrumental in ensuring success of students. He asked the students to adopt these principles along with discipline to succeed in life. Mr Bhullar said that this would help the students to excel in their lives.

Lauding the organizing committee for making foolproof arrangements for the event, the Commissioner of Police complimented the Deputy Commissioner for making this event a huge success. He said that this unique initiative would play a key role in transforming the destiny of the students and ensure that they leave an indelible imprint in any field they go.

Mr Bhullar said that the students must avail the benefit of this two days mega fest and acquire maximum knowledge which could benefit them in due course of their lives.

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr. Kulwant Singh and Mr Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr Rahul Sindhu, Mr. Sanjiv Sharma and Dr Jai Inder Singh, Assistant Commissioners Dr Shayari Malhotra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Harpreet Singh, District Education Officer Mr. Harvinder Pal Singh, Deputy District Education Officer Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, District Guidance Counselor Mr. Surjit Lal, Mr. Jagdish Kumar, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Manmohan Singh and others were also present.
