5th Ludhiana Short Film Festival by Our Space Cinema group was concluded this Sunday at the Ishmeet Singh Music Academy. Film Festival was inaugurated by Dr. K.S Aulakh, Former VC of PAU on Saturday.
Ludhiana gets to experience many National and International short films based on many social, moral and political issues on 7th and 8th December, 2019 and was concluded by the distribution of trophies and certificates to film makers of 21 selected film out of 166 entries from all over the world.
Our Space Cinema group, as a gesture of respect and recognizing the work of Sh. Balraj Sahni, started award under name ‘Balraj Sahni Suhird Cinema Award’ and also gave this first ever award to Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill for his innumerable contributions in the field of art and literature.
Chief guest Dr. SP Singh, Honorary General Secretary GKEC, Former VC GNDU Amritsar, was mesmerized with the quality of short film cinema. He declared to start Diploma Courses in Cinematography, Editing will be started soon in Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of management and Technology, Ludhiana. He quoted, “Society needs more people to collaborate with the group to bring major changes.”
Sh. SK Rai, MD, Hero Steels & Chairman of LSS presided over the session of the second day. Sensing the future & impact of Short format of cinema he gave assurance of generous support. He appreciated the idea of Sh. Pardeep Singh of Our Space cinema group to promote budding filmmakers who are involved in realistic cinema which highlights ills of society.
Famous film maker and Former Director of Doordarshan Jalandhar S.Harjit Singh, Punjabi film script writer of top Punjabi films S.Baldev Gill, Poet, painter and Photographer Beeba Balwant, Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Director Ishmeet Institute, Dr. Sanwal Dhami, Famous Artist Savi and many Film personalities beside makers of selected films, actors attended this event in a jam packed hall.
OURspaceCINEMA group founded and run by Pardeep Singh since 2014. Ludhiana Short Film Festival is the only Festival in Punjab going for last 5 years. The festival was organized by OURspaceCINEMA team members Yadwinder Singh, Sunil KUMAR, Paramjit singh, Pammi Habib, Jasbir Sohal &Manmohan Vinayak. Stage was hosted by Ms Priya Arora.
