In a major step to boost the connectivity of holy city sultanpur lodhi with capital and other parts of the state , chief minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh would flag off a AC bus from newly constructed state of the art bus stand at sultanpur lodhi on October 23. Chief Minister would also dedicate the newly constructed bus stand with Rs. 6 crore to the people on that day.
Disclosing this here today MLA Navtej Singh Cheema said that ” it was the long pending demand of the pilgrims coming to the Gurdwara Shri Ber sahib and residents of the area which is all set to be fulfilled on the historic occasion of 550th Gurpurab celebrations “.
Terming it as a step forward to boost the religious tourism in the adjoining areas , MLA said that the Punjab Government has developed the basic infrastructure in the whole area by constructing new roads , 9 bridges , upgradation of civil hospital to multi speciality, new bus terminal , new circuit house with Rs. 400 crore to facilitate the pilgrims.
It may be mentioned here that the AC bus would start its journey from sultanpur lodhi at 6AM and would turn back to the city after starting from chandigarh at 5.20 in the evening on daily basis . It would connect the sultanpur lodhi with chandigarh via kapurthala-Jalandhar – Phagwara- Banga – Nawashahar – Ropar – kharar .
The city also got connected with direct Rail services few days back as “Sarbat Da Bhala” train was started between sultanpur lodhi and New Delhi.
