A total of 16,15,171 voters in nine assembly constituencies will decide the fate of 19 candidates for Jalandhar Lok Sabha Constituency in this general elections on May 19.
District Election Officer-cum-deputy commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma said that in Phillaur Assembly Segment, there are 201712 voters including 104689 male, 97019 female and 4 third genders.
In Nakodar assembly, there are 190436 voters including 98632 male and 91804 female will participate in the voting process. In the Shahkot assembly segment, a total of 178231 voters include including 91795 male, 86433 female and three third genders will exercise their franchise.
He said that there are 177877 voters in Kartarpur assembly constituency that include 92746 male, 85129 female and two third genders.
In Jalandhar West, a total of 162979 voters including 85746 male, 77500 female and three third genders will cast their votes, Mr Sharma added.
The deputy commissioner also informed that further in Jalandhar Central, 166002 voters including 86182 male, 79814 female and six third genders will cast their voters.
In Jalandhar North, there are 183855 voters including 96764 male and 87091 female. In Jalandhar Cantonment, there are 190302 voters including 100510 male, 89790 female and two third genders.
In Adampur assembly segment, there are 163777 voters including 85051 male and 78726 female.
District Election Officer also stated that there are 1847 service voters including 80 in Phillaur, 109 in Nakodar, 162 in Shahkot, 242 in Kartarpur, 48 in Jalandhar West, 272 in Jalandhar Central, 82 in Jalandhar North, 317 in Jalandhar Cantonment and 535 in Adampur constituency.
Mr Sharma told that the district administration has set up 1863 polling booths in all nine assembly constituencies including 236 in Phillaur, 247 in Nakodar, 244 in Shahkot, 219 in Kartarpur, 163 in Jalandhar West, 169 in Jalandhar Central, 176 in Jalandhar North, 205 in Jalandhar Cantonment and 213 in Adampur assembly constituency.
