144th Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan from Dec 27-29, Jalandhar DC assures full support

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today assured fulsome support and cooperation from district administration to Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha for organizing world renowned annual 144th Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan from ‪December 27th-29th in Sri Devi Talaab Mandir complex.

Chairing a meeting of the Sabha held at local circuit house, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Kulwant Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Arun Saini, said that the administration was duty-bound for ensuring elaborate arrangements to make this gala event a huge success.

He said that requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during this three days musical extravaganza, so that music lovers do not face any sort of problem. Mr. Sharma assured fulsome support and cooperation to the Sabha for making this event a huge success.

The Deputy Commissioner said that every effort would be made to ensure that music lovers and participants coming to this mega event do not face any sort of inconvenience. He said that this gala event has managed to keep the flame of classical traditional music alive among the younger generation in the country.

Mr. Sharma said that it was the bounden duty of the administration to ensure that this event, which was widely acclaimed across the globe, was held in an unsurpassed manner.

Addressing the gathering former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Mr Iqbal Singh lauded the role of administration and Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Mahasabha for organising this mega event. He also recalled his long association with the event spanning over four decades.

Taking part in deliberations, the President of Sabha Mrs. Purnima Beri and General Secretary Mr. Deepak Bali said that several renowned artists from across the globe would perform this year in this event. They said that annual music competition would be held from ‪December 24-26.

They said that on first day of event i.e ‪December 27 Mr S Padamkar Salunke (Shehnai), Pt. Vinod Kumar Dwivedi ( Dhrupad), Pt. Narendra Nath Dhar (Sarod), Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty (Vocal), Dr N Rajam (Violin) and Ms. Shashwati Mandal (Vocal) would give their performances.

Likewise, they said that ‪on ‪December 28 Mr Jaskaran Singh (Tabla), Ms Vramanti Sarkar (Vocal), Mr Lalit Sisodia (Harmonium), Ms Rashmi Chaudhary (Vocal), Pt Partha Pratim Roy (Sitar), Pt Umakant Gundecha and Pt Anant Ramakant Gundecha (Dhrupad), Pt Vijay Ghate (Tabla), Mr Shakir Khan (Sitar), Mr Suranjan Khandalkar (Vocal), Mr Milind Kulkarni (Harmonium), Ms Sheetal Kolwalkar (Kathak), Begum Parween Sultana (Vocal) and Mr Kiranpal Singh Deoora UK (Santoor) would perform in the event. ‪On ‪December 29 Mr Siddeshwar Dasopant Undalkar (Pakhawaj), Mr Simarpreet Singh (Vocal Thumri), Pt Harsh Narayan (Sarangi), Mr Kashish Mittal (Vocal), Mr Lakshay Mohan Gupta and Mr Aayush Mohan Gupta (Sitar and Sarod), Prof Harvinder Singh (Vocal),Pt Nityanand Haldipur (Flute), Ms Mitali Banerjee Bhawmik (Vocal), Ms Rimpa Siva (Tabla) and Pt Raghunandan Panshikar (Vocal) would regale the audiences.
