The selection trial for the Punjab Women’s Hockey Teams for the 12th Hockey India National Sub Junior & Senior Women’s Hockey Championship will be held on April 11 at 9.00 am.
According to Olympian Balwinder Singh Shammi, a member of Hockey Punjab’s ad hoc committee appointed by Hockey India, the Apex body for hockey in India, after the suspension of Hockey Punjab that the selection trial to select the Punjab Sub Junior & Senior Women’s Hockey teams to participate in the 12th Hockey India Sub Junior & Senior Women’s National Hockey Championship, to be from 11 to 22 May, 202 at Imphal (Manipur) and 6 to 17 May, 2022 at Bhopal (Madhya Pardesh), respectively, will be held on April 11, 2022 at 9.00 am onwards at the Astroturf Hockey Ground of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The girls hockey players who born on or after January 1, 2006 will be eligible to participate in these selection trials.
Olympian Shammi further said that Dronacharya Awardee Baldev Singh, Olympian Hardeep Grewal Singh, Olympian Gurinder Singh Chandi, Sukhjit Kaur, Rajbir Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Yogita Bali, Nirmal Singh, Gurbaj Singh (all former international players) has been appointed as a member of the selection committee.
