Mr Badal said “as president of the party I humbly but most sincerely wish to assure every Punjabi that I will always endeavour to discharge my responsibility towards his state and his beloved people- all of you – as a sincere but humble guardian of his extraordinary legacy.
I have always known that the former chief minister belonged to each one of you before he belonged to me in personal capacity. I assure all you that I will continue these bonds between you and him. I will carry forward his legacy of peace, harmony and interfaith brotherhood for a progressive Punjab. I will also continue to uphold the principles of the Khalsa Panth set before us by the great Guru Sahiban, prophets, saints and seers.
