Chandigarh, April 29, 2026 (Yes Punjab News):
A total of 15 Indian nationals are being deported from Australia and are expected to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, late Wednesday night.
Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, disclosed that 11 of the deportees belong to Punjab, including one woman. The remaining individuals include two from Telangana, one from Haryana, and one individual reportedly linked to the United Kingdom.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Mann stated that some of the deported individuals are believed to have been involved in criminal activities while abroad. However, he emphasized that due process would be followed upon their return.
The Chief Minister assured that officials would receive the deportees at the Delhi airport and engage with them to ascertain the circumstances leading to their deportation. He further added that the Punjab government would coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs if required.
