100% frontline workers of 7th PAP Battalion received first & more than 98% have received 2nd dose: HPS Khakh

On the directions of the Punjab Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta, the 7th PAP Battalion on Friday organized a mobile Covid vacation camp at the campus exclusively for the family members of the police officers/employees.

Disclosing more information, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, Commandant of 7th Battalion said that as many as 300 eligible beneficiaries (above the age of 45) have been inoculated today and camp would continue further till the coverage of every entitled here.

He mentioned that in the earlier phases of the vaccination campaign, 100-per cent staff of the 7th Battalion has received the first dose of the vaccine and more than 98 per cent got the second dose of the shield.

The Commandant said that only accelerated vaccination drive can help to build herd immunity resulting in breaking the transmission chain of the infectious disease.

He said that the vaccination is now open for all people above the age of 45 and any kind of ID can be produced for the getting jab. Khakh added the Punjab Government is running the vaccination drive on the war-footing level and now it is the social responsibility of the people to fulfil it by getting the shot.

He added that people must not believe in the rumours surrounding the vaccine as our scientists have left no stone unturned to develop the vaccine for the safety of people from the deadly virus.
