Jalandhar, Oct 26, 2013 (YP Bureau)
Taking a jibe at the rising onion prices and the government's failure to check the price rise, Punjabi comedians Santa-Banta came out with a novel idea of a perfect Diwali Gift.
The comedian duo put up a stall at Jalandhar where onions were displayed as Diwali gift along with other items. The onions, packed in gift boxes, attracted 'customers' who happened to be some other comedians.
Interestingly, Santa-Banta had two comedians dressed up as cops to guard the expensive gifts. Santa and Banta told your website YesPunjab.com that the security of onions was of utmost importance as these can be snatched or looted. "As banks get looted because of heavy cash inside, the robbers could target onion stall too", they said.
Raj Kumar Hanera and Pankaj Aneja played the cops. The comedians said they have been specially engaged for the security of onions.
Others who contributed in the act included Dilpreet Dabbi, Manpreet, Dishpreet, Preet and Vicky.
Santa and Banta appealed to the government that vegetable stalls be allowed inside police stations for security purposes till it manages to check the price rise.
