Upto 40 percent subsidy for dairy schemes in Punjab : Ranike

The Punjab Government has launched various subsidiary schemes for General and SC/ST categories for increasing milk production and dairy development in the state.

Giving more information about these schemes, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development and Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Punjab said that General and SC/ST categories will get subsidy up to 40 percent for Dairy Development under these schemes. He said that the Punjab Government is committed to maintain top position in Milk and Dairy production in the country and take this to another level.

 

Minister said that under this scheme for setting up Dairy Units of 2-10 Milk Producing Animals (maximum cost five lacks) subsidy for General category is 1.25 lacks and for SC/ST is 1.67 Lacks. For setting up Calves unit up to 10 Cattles (maximum cost 4.80 lacks) subsidy for General category is 1.20 lacks and for SC/ST is 1.60 Lacks. For setting up Vermin Compost Production (maximum cost 20 thousand) subsidy for General category is 5 thousand and for SC/ST is 6 thousand 7 hundred. Milking Machine Bulk Miller Cooler Scheme (maximum cost 18 lacks) subsidy for General category is 4.50 lacks and for SC/ST is 6 lacks.  Dairy Processing Unit (maximum cost 12 lacks) subsidy for General category is 3 lacks and for SC/ST is 4 lacks. Milk Production, Transportation and Cold Storage Scheme (maximum cost 24 lacks) subsidy for General category is 6.80 and for SC/ST is 8 lacks. Milk and Milk Products cold storage scheme (maximum cost 30 lacks) subsidy for General category is 7.50 and for SC/ST is 10 lacks. Dairy Marketing Outlets/ Dairy Parlour Scheme (maximum cost 56 thousand) subsidy for General category is 14 thousand and for SC/ST is 18 thousand 6 hundred.

 

Mr. Ranike instructed officials of the department to aware people about various ongoing and upcoming beneficiary schemes at ground level so that common people could benefit more and more from these schemes. He added that people could contact District Deputy Directors, Dairy Managers etc. for any kind of information regarding these schemes and can also call at helpline numbers 0172-2700228, 2700055, 5025242 regarding any query about these schemes.
