Amarinder gone berserk : Majithia
Amritsar, July 15 (YP Bureau)
Reacting to the allegations of rigging in Dasuya by-election leveled by PCC president Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia Sunday said that Amarinder Singh has gone “berserk after repeated shocks of defeat at the hands of the SAD-BJP combine”.
In a statement released here Cabinet minister and Youth Akali Dal president Majithia recalled that after the defeat of Congress in Municipal Elections Amarinder had said that the Congress would have won hands down had the local bodies elections been held under the supervision of Election Commission of India. However, after the defeat in Dasuya Amarinder is again upto blame game, he said and is making claims of rigging in the by-election even as it was conducted by Election Commission of India.
Majithia said that Congress leaders are undermining the constitutional authority of the Election Commission of India. “Central forces were deployed in Dasuya as per the demand of the Punjab Congress and still, its leaders are claiming that the election was unfair”, he said.
Majithia said that this was not the first time that Congress leaders had done so. Earlier too they had opposed constitutional bodies like the CAG only because it exposed the working of the UPA government, he said.
