The wishes and prayers of Punjabi NRI’s seem to be coming true, with renewed interest of various airlines to begin services to Amritsar.

Armavia Air Company, the largest carrier of Armenia,shall begin flights from 25July to the Holy City from the Armenian capital city, Yerevan.

The flights shall operate bi-weekly from Yerevan and Amritsar on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as per following schedule:
 
Tuesday        Yerevan-Amritsar 2000hrs   0155hrs(+1)
                    Amritsar-Yerevan 0310hrs   0635hrs
 
Wednesday  Yerevan-Amritsar 2030hrs   0225hrs(+1)
                    Amritsar-Yerevan                  0340hrs   0705hrs

The airline will connect Amritsar passengers to Birmingham, Rome and Milan in its first phase of operations.
 
Gunbir Singh, President, Amritsar Tourism Outreach and heading the travel company Divine Destination,Said, ”this airline could provide excellent connections for tourists, pilgrims and businessmen to a new destination In East Europe, as well as convenient flights onwards to Rome, Milan and Birmingham.”
